Born and raised in San Diego I was the first single parent to attend the MDPhD program at UCSD where I worked on developing ALS treatments. With a passion to help others from disadvantaged backgrounds, I served in leadership positions in our free clinic and in several roles increasing access to healthcare and higher education.
